A gate valve is an opening and closing component, the gate, whose movement direction is perpendicular to the fluid flow. Gate valves can only be fully opened or fully closed and are not suitable for use as regulating valves.
Advantages of Wedge Gate Valves:
1、Low flow resistance. The internal medium channel of the valve body is straight, allowing the medium to flow in a straight line with minimal resistance.
2、Easier to open and close. Compared to globe valves, the movement direction of the gate when opening or closing is perpendicular to the medium flow direction.
3、The opening and closing stroke of the gate is relatively slow, and the lifting is performed via a screw mechanism.
4、Less prone to water hammer. The reason is the longer closing time.
5、The medium can flow in either direction, making installation easy. The gate valve channel is symmetrical on both sides.
6、Simple shape and short structural length.
7、Compact structure, smooth channel, low flow resistance coefficient, sealing surface made of stainless steel and hard alloy, long service life.
